    北京电光源研究所建于 1975 年，是国内电光源行业建所最早、规模最大的应用型研究开发机构 , 高、中级职称科技人员占全所人员 55% ，市场营销人员占全所人员 40% ，主要从事的工作有：
    •  电光源与照明领域内各种高强度放电灯、低压放电灯、卤钨灯的开发，部分灯用材料、灯用电器附件和特种用途的灯具、光源配套设备的研制、开发与生产。
    •  室内、外照明工程的设计与安装。
    •  照明电器产品的质量监督、检验以及测试设备研究开发。
    •  电光源及其附件的国家标准、行业标准的制、修订。
    •  主办《中国照明电器》杂志（月刊）。
    •  国内外照明电器最新科技及经济信息的收集与发布。
    建所以来共获科技成果奖 180 多项，其中部、市级成果奖 64 项，追赶世界先进水平和满足社会各方需求是我所研究开发的主要目标，我所生产的各类特种光源都具有相当的技术优势和市场竞争力。
    国家电光源质量监督检验中心（北京）、国家轻工业照明电器信息中心、全国电光源标准化中心等行业权威性服务机构均设在我所。

    Beijing Lighting Research Institute (BLRI), founded in 1975, is the oldest and largest institute on the technology development and application of electric light sources in China . The qualified expertized personnel in our institute makes up 80 percent of the total workforce, and the marketing personnel 54%. The main tasks of the BLRI are as follows:
    • To undertake research and development(R&D) projects in every field of electric light sources and lighting,including all kinds of high intensity discharge lamps, low pressure discharge lamps, tungsten halogen lamps, and electrical accessories for lamps, luminaires for special uses, some equipment and material for lamps.
    • To undertake designing and installation of indoor and outdoor lighting projects.
    • To undertake the authorized quality supervision and test works of electric light sources, and the development of testing equipments.
    • To prepare national standards of lamps and related equipments.
    • To Publish China light & lighting (monthly magazine)
    • To collect and issue the up-to-date scientific & technological information on light and lighting both at home and abroad.
    Since The establishment of the BLRI we have won more than 180 prizes of R&D achievements, of which 64 were rewarded by the Ministry and Beijing Municipality. To catch up with the world advanced level and satisfy the demands of market will be our main aim. The products supplied by the BLRI are qualified products, and have highly competition for market.
